Science-based support for menopause management
Black cohosh (Actaea racemosa) is native to Canada and the United States. It has been used traditionally in herbal medicine to ease nervous tension, relieve muscle and joint pain associated with rheumatic conditions (such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and/or fibrositis), and of pain associated with neuralgia (such as sciatica). Black cohosh has also been used traditionally to help relieve the pain associated with menstruation and relieve symptoms associated with menopause and premenstrual symptoms. Its ability to alleviate symptoms of menopause has been studied in randomized controlled clinical trials. A part of this effect can be attributed to the high content of triterpene glycosides in black cohosh, which may help reduce levels of luteinizing hormone and activate dopaminergic receptors.
Black Cohosh SAP provides high quality black cohosh extract for relief from menopause and premenstrual symptoms and helps support mood balance and pain management.
SCIENCE-BASED BORAGE OIL FOR OPTIMAL SUPPORT OF PROSTAGLANDIN BALANCE*
SIZE/FORMAT: 90 Softgels
SKU: 1046U
Science-based OMEGA-6 fatty acid of exceptional purity
Evening primrose oil (EPO) contains essential fatty acids that have several beneficial effects on the body. EPO is a source of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) which, when used topically, has been demonstrated to aid in managing atopic dermatitis. EPO also contains precursors of prostaglandin E1 which, when deficient, can contribute to many female hormone-balancing concerns, including PMS symptoms such as depression, irritability, breast pain, and fluid retention. Deficiency of prostaglandin E1 can also contribute to menopausal symptoms including hot flashes. EPO also inhibits leukotriene synthesis, which is an inflammatory mediator and can therefore be used to reduce systemic inflammation in the body.
SCIENCE-BASED CRANBERRY (WHOLE BERRY) CONCENTRATE FOR UTI PREVENTION*
SIZE/FORMAT: 60 Capsules
SKU: 1009U
Science-based cranberry (whole berry) concentrate for UTI prevention
Native to North America, cranberries have been used as a medicinal agent for centuries. Cranberries contain proanthocyanidins, which have been shown to inhibit the fimbrial adhesion of bacteria, including Escherichia coli, to the urinary tract epithelium, hence preventing bacterial proliferation and infection. These unique proanthocyanidin compounds, and not acidification of the urine, are suggested to be pivotal in preventing urinary tract infections (UTI).
